Staff Wine Review – GoodCheapBooze.com
Good Booze. Smooth with berries.
Meritage wines sometimes show off the best of the French Bordeaux grapes. This one is not a huge wine, but it does show good berries and is pretty smooth after some time open or aerated. Decent price and a worthy pour. Enjoy within an hour or so of opening because the fruit isn’t going to linger on and on.

Pour it and taste – Slight tar and berry aroma. Blackberries, modest tannins.
Aerator – Tar vanishes. Berry aroma. A mouth full of berries. Bit of oak. Soft tannins smooth finish.
Decanter – Tiny Tar nose without berry. Berry flavors, smooth and no tannins.
Overall – Decent modest, Bordeaux blend. Works best with the aerator and maybe the decanter. Drink within a year or so, and do not plan on lingering over this one for hours at the table.
